There are so many skin care products out in the market, especially now with social media, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and all these “skin influencers” trying to get you to buy certain skin products, even if they don’t believe in it or have actually tried it. I personally don’t trust a content creator in their ‘recommendation’ of a product when it’s a paid advertisement. Not that I have a problem with people making money but right off the bat, I become suspicious. What we all need to understand is that skin care is individual and personal.
In order to protect your skin, you need sunscreen. Sunscreen in skin care is nonnegotiable, you need sunscreen every day, all day; even in the winter time despite what others may say to you. Now, I know it can be challenging to find the right product for you (since the industry is filled with so much information and misinformation) but what I’ve learned in my almost 10 years in the industry is that you have to find the right products and the right routine that suits you. Not every product is going to work for you and that’s okay.
What I love about Colorescience is it inclusivity, it’s way of providing different textures of sunscreen and the way that it’s packaged. Colorescience is the one skin care brand that I have found that can really give no one no excuse to not wear sunscreen. The reason is because this line has every type of sunscreen for every type of person. I say this because I personally find texture very important; if something is too runny I’m not going to like it because I feel like it’s going to slide off my face. If a product is too thick I feel like I’m wearing a mask. What’s awesome about Colorescience is that they have different types of sunscreens that have different textures and even though one may be a little bit “runny “It’s not actually runny when it’s applied to the skin; another product has a thicker texture but it doesn’t feel like you’re wearing a mask and with the advanced of their brush on mineral sunscreen it’s a total game changer. It’s so easy to reapply! It takes less than 30 seconds and these products are absolutely amazing! I have fallen in love with these products, I use them every single day, multiple times a day and I just want everyone to see how amazing they are.
First, I want to talk about the Solar Flex SPF 50. Now these are the ones that are a little bit runnier very much like your traditional sunscreens. Now the Solar Flex SPF 50 has five different shades plus a no-show shade meaning that they no-show actually shows no colour so it actually applies on clear. The five shades are completely beautiful, they apply smooth and mostly sheer; in particular, the bronze really gives that sun kissed glow, which is absolutely stunning in the summertime. The other line of products is the Tint du Soleil, these are the ones that are a little bit thicker texture so this one would give more of a full coverage in comparison to the Solar Flex SPF 50, the Tint du Soleil (which are SPF 30) comes in four shades. Unfortunately, these products don’t come in a no-show; but the no-show sunscreen stands alone as a product that is amazing and it’s a good in between the Solar Flex and the Tint du Soleil. My absolute most favourite product has to be the brush on mineral sunscreens. I’m telling you, it is so easy to apply and reapply. It’s so lightweight for my ladies out there, it does not mess up your make up. For my guys out there, you couldn’t tell that you are putting anything on. It’s a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful product. The Brush On Mineral SPF 50 comes in five shades and a colourless matte finish. The colours do not show when applied but there is a tint of colour but not enough to show a drastic finish.
Some of the products in the Colorescience line include a body sunscreen, a hydrating mist, lip shines and a stick sunscreen, which is perfect for my gym people.
